MMDF is contributing $150,000 to the City of Flin Flon to address the challenges of the mining closure of Hudbay Minerals 777 mine in Flin Flon. MMDF is contributing $69,700 towards Phase one of Community Futures Manitoba and Food and Beverage Manitoba’s project to establish food innovation hubs throughout Manitoba. This project would focus specifically on northern Manitoba and involve the completion of an environmental scan and community consultations.
MMDF is contributing $22,500 to The Pas Community Development Corporation (CDC) for Phase one of their Clearwater Campground Project. Phase one involves the completion of a master plan and business plan for the campground. This project is supported by the Opaskwayak Cree Nation.
MMDF is providing the Thompson Community Development Corporation $100,000 towards the Thompson Winter Weather Testing Centre of Excellence. The funds will be used for a feasibility study and business plan to establish a winter weather testing centre campus.
MMDF is providing Uptown Emporium $50,000 for the development of the ImagiNorthern Strategy. Uptown Emporium will use the funds to complete their data collection phase in order to sustainably implement their business model throughout the north.
MMDF is providing $25,000 towards the implementation of a Sled Friendly training/certification program for communities and businesses in northern Manitoba. This program is part of an overall Snowmobile Tourism Strategy that was developed in partnership with Travel Manitoba, MTEC, CRED and CEDF.
MMDF is providing $98,000 to the City of Flin Flon for the development of a Regional Investment Attraction Toolkit. This toolkit will include marketable profiles, priority industries and business cases to expedite investment in the region.
MMDF is providing $84,172 to Community Futures North Central Development to install six (6) level 3 (L3) charging stations for electric vehicles on PTH 10 and PTH 6. This project is in partnership with Natural Resources Canada, CEDF, City of Thompson, Thompson Chamber of Commerce, Town of The Pas, and Misipawistik Cree Nation.
MMDF is providing $115,000 to Thompson Community Development Corporation to support the development of an organization's business plan and to pursue income-generating projects within the organization to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
MMDF is providing $83,250 to Arctic Gold Honey for a business expansion project aimed at increasing sales and distribution of raw honey as well as adding haskap berries to their product array.
